IN-MOLD DECORATION

FEATURE

One of the most efficient and cost-effective ways of decorating a part is to do it during the molding cycle.

  • Molding and decoration happen simultaneously, thus a significant savings in process time, labor and floor space.
  • No trimming required which eliminates secondary operations, labor and reduces cost.
  • Improved craftsmanship due to the capability of A-surface parting lines and sharp points which reduces gaps.

FORMING

  1. Film is heated and softened.

  2. Film is formed to the product shape through vacuum forming.

  3. Excess film is trimmed off.

  4. Formed and trimmed film is tucked into the injection mold.
